2016 - Year of Belarusian Culture

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on December 28 signed a decree № 522 "On Declaring 2016 the Year of Culture."

Decree adopted to bring together intellectual and spiritual forces of society to meet the challenges of social and economic development of the country, preservation of historical and cultural heritage of folk traditions, education of the citizens of the love for the Fatherland, as well as support for creative initiatives.

Government mandated to develop and adopt a republican plan of events for the 2016 Year of Culture, affecting all spheres of activity (production and farming culture, the culture of family relationships and life, everything culture settlements).

Considerable attention will be given to activities in the field of art and culture, which is one of the main means of education in the youth patriotism and respect for the motherland. Also it provides a set of activities associated with the iconic culture of Belarus anniversaries.
